A Conversation With Beverly Cleary

We have just finished reading the book, “The Mouse and the Motorcycle” in our class. We loved this story!  Hayden would like you to know that “it’s a good book about a boy, a mouse and a motorcycle.”  Makenna was “really anxious to hear the ending!”

Grade 3’s, have you read any of Beverly Cleary’s other books? Which ones? Has anyone else in your family read any Beverly Cleary books?

  1. Hi 3W! My favorite Beverly Cleary book is Beezus and Ramona. I have read a lot of her earlier books and I remember that Ramona was a menace to Beezus, her older sister, to Henry, and to his dog, Ribsy (I think that was his dog’s name). It’s not that Ramona deliberatly sets out to make trouble for other people. She has more imagination that his healthy for one person.

I like that part where Ramona invites her entire kindergarten class to her home without mentioning it to her mother.
    Mr. W.
